POSTING # 2 4 / 2 5 - 19 MAY 16 , 20 2 4 JOB POSTING DISTRICT LEARNER SUPPORT CENTRE 1.0 FTE ( . 8 0 FTE CONTINUING & .20 FTE TEMPORARY) ASSIGNMENT .80 FTE SOCIAL EMOTIONAL HELPING TEACHER ( Continuing ) .20 FTE ELEMENTARY COUNSELOR (Temporary) EFFECTIVE: September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 The successful candidate will: Have a valid teaching certificate for the Province of British Columbia and proof of current membership in the BC College of TeachersHave a graduate degree in counselling and recent successful experience as an elementary school counsellorHave recent successful teaching and counselling experienceProvide comprehensive support to teachers through a co-teaching model to improve students' social emotional and behavioural functioning and development within the classroom that align with the core competencies in BC's curriculumProvide a child focused approach utilizing current methodology and strategiesBe familiar with and willing to apply principles of self-regulationHave knowledge of and commitment to current directions in educationHave knowledge of and commitment to using assessment for learning, differentiated instruction and universal design for learningHave experience in teaching social skills and social-emotional wellbeing lessons to elementary age studentsBe skilled in providing in-service for staff on counselling strategies related to the classroomHave demonstrated ability and commitment to the philosophy of the inclusive classroomHave documented excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skillsHave a willingness to work in a supportive and cooperative manner with existing school and district personnel Embed the First Nations Principles of Learning in all subject areasBe committed to working as a cooperative, collaborative member of a district wide instructional team and attend meetings as requiredBe committed to consultation, parent conferences, and positive home/school/community liaison Possess a valid driver's license; travel is a requirementHave an exemplary driving record as demonstrated by a current driver's abstractApplicants should be aware that attendance at staff meetings, professional development activities and school-based team meetings is considered an integral element of assignments.All inquiries should be directed to:Cindy Miller District Principal, Learner Support Services SALARY: The starting annual salary for<p>full-time Secondary School position ranges from $62,718 to $110,161, with<p>placement on the range based on length of services and qualification in<p>accordance with the collective agreement.
