Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Administer tests using equipment, instruct patients on test procedures and record results, and monitor, check and calibrate auditory equipment. Assist health care professionals. Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities. Apply and adjust casts, splints and bandages. Clean and maintain equipment. Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies. Record vital signs. Clean and dress wounds. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation for re-use according to standardized safety practices. Remove casts, sutures and pins. Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.
