APSSP Job Posting #2024-009 <p>One Temporary/Term Youth Counsellor <p>Term starting September 3, 2024 until June 27, 2025 <p>10-month / 35 hours per week <p>Annual Salary ($55,740.78 - $59,191.34 per year) <p>Applications through applytoeducation.com are invited for this position from properly qualified employees within the system presently covered under the scope of the APSSP Group, and shall be directed to the attention to Human Resources Services. Resumes from applicants outside the bargaining unit will not be accepted for this posting. <p>The successful applicant to this position will provide direct counselling services to students in one low-enrollment classroom. The successful applicant will work cooperatively with a team of school and system-based professionals in an educational environment dedicated to providing the highest standards of service. <p>Skills, Qualifications and Education Requirements must hold a Social Services diploma (CAAT) or qualifications deemed equivalent by the Board;<p> a valid Ontario Drivers License with the ability to travel to schools with in DSBN;<p> demonstrates the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, possesses strong organizational and time management skills;<p> is an effective communicator (both written and verbal);<p> demonstrates experience with successfully supporting students who have social and /or emotional difficulties in educational programs in both the elementary and secondary panels;In addition, successful applicants must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the following: Receiving referrals and working collaboratively with Administrators, Social Workers, attendance counsellors, school staff, students, families, and select community agencies; <p> Supporting students in goal-setting based on the CASEL wheel; <p> Directly supporting classrooms by providing evidence-based programs; <p> Facilitating small group opportunities to work on targeted skill-building with students;<p> Regularly consulting with DSBN Mental Health and Well-being team; <p> Providing attendance re-engagement support for students and families;<p> Maintaining appropriate records and reports along with ensuring that the proper consents and releases of information are followed;<p> Tracking and maintaining data associated with working with students;<p> Carrying out other professional duties as assigned.Reason for Posting New position based on temporary funding.<p>To fully assess your qualifications, a resume is necessary.
