TEACHER <p> Position: <p> Teacher Librarian <p> Posting Number: <p> 24-074 <p> Term of Employment: <p> September 03, 2024 to December 31, 2024 (or the return of the incumbent) <p> FTE: <p> .5 FTE <p> Salary: <p> $58,267 to $106,217 <p> Deadline to Apply: <p> Open until filled; first review of applications will be 3 p.m. on Monday, June 03, 2024 Join Our Team <p> School District 72 is looking for a temporary .5 FTE Teacher Librarian to join our team of educators at Quadra Elementary School , who strive to bring the districts learning beliefs to life.<p> School District 72 (Campbell River) is located on the east coast of central Vancouver Island, extending north to Sayward and south to Oyster River. The district also includes the outer islands of Read, Cortes, and Quadra. The district serves over 5,600 students in 18 schools with a diverse range of programs that are progressive and responsive to the educational needs and interests of students.<p> The district respects and values the relationships with all First Nations, Mtis, and Inuit peoples who reside in these territories. It is with respectful consideration that the programs and services provided to students and staff acknowledge their histories, cultural contributions, and contemporary concerns.<p> Bring your Expertise Relevant university qualifications;<p> A comprehensive understanding of current educational practices outlined in the BC Ministry of Education documents;<p> Committed to the craft of teaching, best practices, and standards of professional practice;<p> Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, communicative, and problem-solving skills;<p> Flexible and adaptive; and,<p> A commitment to professional development and growth. The successful candidates for these positions will have: A minimum of three (3) university library courses;<p> One (1) year of school librarian experience;<p> Digital and information technology literacy skills applicable to research and library including the ability to manage INSIGNIA software;<p> A demonstrated commitment in support of robust literacy development;<p> An understanding and experience in resource management and evaluation;<p> Knowledge of current educational practices and trends;<p> The ability to coordinator support staff work;<p> The ability to provide instructional support to teaching staff; and,<p> The ability to provide leadership in school and district activities to support the school.
