Our mission is to engage each girl in a personalized, real-world learning experience where she explores her unique pathways within a nurturing community. <p>An Opportunity to Join SMLS<p>Role Overview<p>To support our vision of empowered young women challenging and transforming the world, we are currently seeking a Middle School Learning Strategist to help support our Middle School students. This individual, working under the guidance of the Director of Learning Strategies, will be responsible for supporting both the academic and social/emotional needs of students and encouraging students to become self-advocates for their learning. The Learning Strategies Teacher will also work with classroom teachers with specific strategies to differentiate instruction and assessment. The successful candidate is enthusiastic, articulate and a creative teacher who communicates with ease and confidence with all stakeholders (i.e. other teachers, students, parents, etc). The candidate will be a part of an inclusive learning community that allows learners to thrive and prosper. The candidate will be comfortable engaging in innovative and diverse programming. The candidate will be a critical thinker who demonstrates initiative, integrity and attention to detail. The candidate brings a confident and assertive leadership style. They are an educator who never stops learning and continually seeks best practices in girls education to enrich their teaching. <p>Position Details<p>Department: Learning Strategies<p>Reports to: Director, Learning Strategies<p>Liaises with: Principal, Middle School, Vice-Principal, Middle School, Middle School Teachers <p>Education: Bachelor of Education, Ontario Teacher Certification <p>Experience: 3-5+ years experience supporting students with learning plans<p>Special Education Additional Qualifications and experience<p>Classroom Teaching Experience (a definite asset)<p>ESL - Additional Qualification (asset)<p>Experience in a non-profit setting (asset)<p>Experience in an Independent School (asset)<p>Working Conditions: School/Office Environment, Mac, GoogleWho You Are<p>Your Strengths<p>Above all else, the successful candidate is a champion for girls education.
