<p>Applications are invited for the position of Principal , Sheldon Coates Elementary School in Grande Cache, Alberta which resides in the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. Duties will commence at the start of the 2024/2025 school year.Posting will close: June 7, 2024 at 12:00pm. <p>Role and Responsibilities <p>The successful candidate is an innovative, caring, collaborative and committed instructional leader, who possesses significant, broad-based educational leadership experience demonstrated by competence in data-informed decision-making and improving measurable student achievement. The responsibilities include: <p> Providing instructional leadership to promote high quality teaching and learning. Implementing the Teacher Growth, Supervision and Evaluation Policy. Providing each student with the opportunity to fulfill their potential and pursue their dreams. Facilitating inclusive educational practices to maximize educational opportunities for all students. Adhering to provincial legislation, board policy and division administrative procedures. Managing school operations and finances. Developing a shared responsibility between student, parents, schools and communities. Modelling commitment to professional development.Requirements The successful candidate will : Masters degree in Education is required. Bachelors of Education is required with a focus on Elementary Education is preferred. Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one. Have experience in implementing the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum. Must possess the Alberta Leadership Quality Standard Certification (LQS). In-depth understanding of the Alberta high school curriculum, current research in assessment, data analysis and instructional coaching are required. Prior experience as a school administrator is required. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.The Division Grande Yellowhead School Division (GYPSD) stretches from Jasper National Park, east to Evansburg, south of Cadomin, and northwest to Grande Cache. The jurisdiction includes 17 schools, 5 Learning Connection Centres, approximately 5000 students and 600 staff. The Division is governed by seven elected Trustees. The Boards four priorities are: Student Learning Teaching and Leadership Excellence Community Engagement System Health and WellnessGYPSD schools offer a broad range of JK-12 programs. Principals focus on strong instructional leadership using generative dialogue to support teacher growth and supervision.The Division is noted for its commitment to strong literacy practices infused across the curriculum, inclusive education and for its innovative technology programs.The Division is committed to strong professional development and each teacher and principal has the opportunity to apply for up to $2000 per year to support professional learning.Applications The competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
