Responsibilities
Tasks
-
Assess clients’ cognitive, social and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals
-
Assess people’s physical limitations, orientation abilities and mobility to establish client rehabilitation
-
Instruct students in reading and writing braille
-
Instruct students in lip-reading, finger spelling and sign language
-
Instruct in the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices and wheelchairs
-
Instruct students in formation and development of sound for speech using hearing aids and other devices
-
Assist students to develop life skills

Provide job training and support
-
Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs

Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on special needs of client to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives
