Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio. Tasks: Analyze hair and scalp condition. Book appointments. Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences. Provide custom hair and scalp treatment. Shampoo customers' hair. Shave and trim beards and mustaches. Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences. Perform receptionist duties. Maintain and order supplies. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods.
