Education: Bachelor's degree. Water resources engineering. Civil engineering, other. Work setting: Consulting engineering company. Tasks: Conduct economic analyses. Conduct feasibility studies. Design and plan various types of dams. Plan and design bridges. Plan and design water and waste management systems. Conduct site visits to gather relevant information . Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data for development of topographic, soil, hydrological or other information and prepare reports. Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Develop construction specifications and procedures. Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Establish and monitor construction work schedules. Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials. Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects. Offer mentoring. Supervision: No supervision responsibility. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Type of related experience: Civil engineering. Area of work experience: Design.
