SUMMARY/SCOPE
Eh Cho Dene requires a Class 1 Truck Driver to operate a tractor-trailer for transportation and delivery of heavy equipment and to operate a box truck and pup. The Truck Driver may be required to load and unload the truck and may be required to operate heavy equipment. A Class 1 driver's license is required. Knowledge of Fort Nelson area resource roads is strongly recommended.
The Truck Driver will work in the cab of the truck while driving, and outside when needed to load or unload, and may encounter all kinds of road, weather and traffic conditions. The qualified applicant must possess the ability to work without direct-supervision and deliver the load on-time and in a safe manner that complies with regulations. Weekend work and overtime may be required.

*Job Duties*
· Check heavy equipment using approved circle check procedures before operating them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
· Operate hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components.
· Operate gasoline and diesel-powered units.
· Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
· Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
· Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
· Refrain from using drugs and or alcohol or prescribed medications causing drowsiness prior to reporting for work, or decline work based on these conditions.
· Always disable cellular phones and other sources of distraction while operating heavy equipment.
· Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work.
· Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and operation techniques.
· Report equipment defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the equipment.
· Check all documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
· Operate equipment such as computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or operators.
· Load and unloading of equipment.
· Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.
· Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up.
· Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems.
· Complete all necessary paperwork (may include, but is not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, equipment inspection, hours of service, timesheets etc.).
*Requirements*
· High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
· Class 1 driver's license.
· Appropriate credentials and certifications for industrial sites.
· 3 years? experience as a Construction Equipment Operator is considered and asset
· Knowledge of construction equipment safety.
· Knowledge of operation of front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and other pieces of heavy equipment.
· Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage.
· Strong mechanical aptitude
