Posting Number: T24-194<p>Date Issued: June 11, 2024POSITION<p>Worksite: Student Services- Various Schools<p>Contract Type: Continuing, Full-Time<p>Assignment Area(s): District Counsellor <p>Salary Range: $57,973 to $106,217 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement) <p>Effective Date: September 1, 2024 <p>Deadline for Applications: June 19, 2024 12:00 pmElectronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: <p>extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment <p>knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment <p>Masters degree, recognized by the College of Teachers, in counselling psychology or a related discipline with a focus on behaviour disorders and counselling<p>knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as outlined in the Manual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for Special Education Services, as it relates to behavior and mental health support<p>demonstrated ability to collect behavioural information and performing behavioural screening and/or assessments in order to complete Functional Behavioural Assessments<p>knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of CBIEPs in consultation with the classroom teacher(s), parent(s), student and district personnel<p>demonstrated commitment to working with FESL data including EDI, MDI, YDI, Student Learning Survey, FSA, attendance, transitions etc.<p>working knowledge of the Ministry of Educations Mental Health in Schools Strategy and Key Principles and Strategies for K-12 Mental Health Promotion <p>experience and leadership in supporting students, families and staff using the First Peoples Principles of Learning and the Medicine Wheel Philosophy at the elementary, middle and secondary levels<p>ability to work with the Indigenous Education department on Indigenization of social emotional and mental health curriculum<p>demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with district learning services departments (Indigenous Education, Curriculum and Student Services) to support students and school staff<p>ability to implement holistic plans and strategies focused on balance, wellness and restorative methods which maintain the dignity of all students, families and community<p>experience in the implementation of social emotional learning, mental health literacy and trauma-informed practices<p>demonstrated understanding of, and experience with District Safe, Caring and Orderly Schools policies, protocols and procedures<p>extensive knowledge of core and curricular competencies as they apply to the collaborative development of competency-based IEPs <p>demonstrated leadership experience in supporting teachers as they develop learning plans (CBIEPs, SLPs and PBSPs) that meet the needs of students with diverse abilities and disabilities<p>demonstrated working understanding of district-wide information systems including My Education BC and eInsight<p>excellent leadership and communication skills; a strong team player <p>demonstrated ability to support school-based staff in working with students who have complex learning needs<p>knowledge of research and best practice in instructional strategies, programs and resources to meet the needs of a broad range of students with disabilities a
