(OSSTF - Education Workers) Rapid Rounds <p>The Near North District School Board is Hiring! <p>1.0 Permanent Behaviour Counsellor- North Region <p>Effective August 28, 2024 Reporting to the Principal of Special Education, the Behaviour Counsellor Works collaboratively with central staff including the Special Education Co-ordinator, Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, and various internal and external collaborators and provides Behaviour Management Systems coaching and training to elementary, secondary and supervisory staff. This position provides consultative, direct and evaluative services for the prevention/intervention of students with behavioural needs and/or students with Autism Spectrum Disorder through coaching, modelling, development of program, behaviour management, and individualized plans. The Behaviour Counsellor supports the implementation of these plans alongside the Behaviour Therapist, Educational Assistant, Teacher, School Team and Mobile Support Teacher. Location: North Region Duties & Responsibilities : Provide direct observation and assessment of the student in the educational setting.<p> Develop Individualized program plans, preventative intervention plans and Behaviour Management Plans<p> Assist school staff with the implementation and development of the Behaviour Management Plan and any classroom strategies through modelling and coaching<p> Provide Consultation, recommendations and ongoing support for individualized plans<p> Support the management and maintenance of referrals and collaborate on delivery models <p> Participate in consultation and intake meetings with school teams<p> Participate in service coordination, attend meetings and liaise with community organizations<p> Assist school staff with the development and implementation of Safety Plans<p> Develop and maintain written reports regarding plan implementation and student progress<p> Provide Professional Development and Behaviour Management Systems Training for NNDSB Employee groups Qualifications and Skills : 3 Year Diploma or degree in the Social Services Field or an equivalent combination of related specialized post-secondary training<p> Behavior Management Systems (BMS) Training<p> Experience with implementation of individualized programming in an educational setting <p> Experience working as a member of an interdisciplinary team<p> Delivery of Training and Professional Development considered an asset<p> Strong Written and Oral Communication skillsAdditional Requirements: Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle (frequent travel within the North Region is required)Salary: $57,795.00 to $66,123.00 Please ensure your have uploaded your applicable Educational Diploma(s) and/or Degree(s) to your Apply to Education Portfolio <p>All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada <p>The Near North District School Board is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to supporting an inclusive and accessible environment.
