Tasks

Keep record of work performed and location and condition of equipment

Adjust and repair waterworks equipment under the direction of qualified tradesperson

Read blueprint, schemas and drawings
-
Check, lubricate, refuel and clean equipment

Operate various vehicles and equipment
-
Report any malfunctions to supervisor

Search, locate and repair reported water leaks
-
Provide information on underground gas distribution lines
-
Observe excavation work to ensure that underground facilities are protected

Write maintenance reports

Maintain work records and logs
-
Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment
-
Perform general cleaning duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping floors)

Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
