Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Odours. Confined spaces. All weather conditions. Level of expertise: Operator. Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Coach and instruct apprentices. Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Repair or replace defective machinery parts. Perform routine maintenance work on machinery. Installing machinery and equipment. Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment. Wear and use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment. Repair and maintain equipment. Repair or replace faulty equipment and apparatus. Replace parts as required. Refer to schematic drawings or product manuals to repair parts. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Perform other routine maintenance. Perform preventive maintenance. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work. Oversee apprenticeship training. Monitor equipment to detect wear and damage. Assist in operation, repair and maintenance. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Welding experience. Patrol plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators and other plant equipment. Install major components such as gears, pumps, motors or hydraulic assemblies. Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records. Replace or repair electrical components. Supervision: Welding, brazing and soldering machine operators. Machining tool operators. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification. First Aid Certificate. Industrial processes and products experience: Industrial operations and maintenance. Equipment and machinery experience: Power tools. Pumps and compressors. Welding equipment. Pumps. Motors and controls. Area of specialization: Troubleshooting. Welding. Machinery or equipment repair. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract).
