Education: College/CEGEP. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Large volume bakery. Factory or plant. Equipment operation. Tasks: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders. Bake mixed dough and batters. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food. Prepare special orders. Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff. Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods. Train staff. Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards. Inspect kitchen and food service areas. Operate machinery. Organize and maintain inventory. Visually inspect products for quality. Record information on products inspected. Record production information and complete reports. Propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures. Apply quality control procedure. Maintain quality control and production records. Maintain work records and logs. Check products for quality control. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Type of operation: Baking or cooking. Industrial processes and products experience: Quality assurance and control. Manufacturing sector experience: Food.
