Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand. Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Professionalism in customer service. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Keep a record of items received and delivered. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Load and unload goods. Sort packages for delivery. Follow directions and read map. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Provide customer service. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). DZ class license. Documentation knowledge: Trip reports. Maintenance and repair reports. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Dangerous goods occurrence reports. Driver logbook. Bill of lading. Transportation/travel experience: Regional.
