The Director of Business Development will be at the heart of driving our aggressive growth strategy in the logistics and supply chain industry. The DBD will be responsible with developing new relationships and expanding existing ones, introducing our unique suite of freight brokerage, forwarding, customs brokerage and 3PL warehousing services. The incumbent will work closely with top management and operational teams, ensuring the delivery of our revenue and margin goals, predominantly in the North American for Road / Rail / 3PL services and Global region for Ocean and Air services.
*Responsibilities and Accountabilities:*
* Drive the full sales cycle including lead generation, prospecting, presenting, solution selling, and negotiating contracts, utilizing a consultative approach to meet clients' logistics and supply chain requirements.
* Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities and build a strong sales pipeline.
* Develop and implement strategies to widen our market reach, attract new clients, and maintain relationships with existing ones.
* Collaborate with the operational teams to devise comprehensive customer solutions, design service level agreements, and ensure client satisfaction.
* Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and events to strengthen the organization's visibility and generate leads.
* Keep pace with industry trends, competitive landscape, customer behaviors, and participate in relevant industry associations.
* Regularly monitor and report on sales performance, trend analysis, and market intelligence to the leadership team.
* Ensure consistent usage and timely updates on the CRM system for effective pipeline management and forecasting.
*Skills and Experience:*
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight brokerage, freight forwarding, or 3PL warehousing.
· At least 4 years of experience in a national sales role, with a demonstrated track record of selling to C-suite and Vice President level executives.
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred.
· Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and providing consultative, value-add solutions to complex accounts.
· Familiarity with sales techniques including cold-calling, networking, lead generation, and closing deals.
· Proficient with MS Office Suite and CRM tools, Salesforce knowledge is a plus.
·Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$200,000.00 per year
