*Accounting Assistant*
*Job Summary*
The Winnipeg Winter Club is currently seeking a highly dependable, detail-oriented professional to fill the full-time role of Accounting Assistant. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Assistant will conduct all day-to-day accounting activities, while also providing exceptional customer service to the Club?s members.
*Responsibilities*
* Payroll
Ø Input all employees? payroll bi-weekly using Ibex while ensuring all deductions are calculated correctly.
Ø Maintain all employee files in a confidential manner.
Ø Calculate the Club?s Pro fees monthly.
Ø Complete the WCB quarterly remittance.
Ø Prepare the monthly salary and wage accrual calculation.
* Accounts Payable
Ø Code and enter all supplier invoices appropriately.
Ø Maintain good-standing relationships with suppliers.
Ø Issue and send out vendor payments.
Ø Reconcile the credit card statement monthly.
* Accounts Receivable
Ø Ensure all charges to members and external customers are correct prior to entering them into the system.
Ø Answer all members and external customers? inquiries in a professional manner.
Ø Issue member statements on a monthly basis in a timely manner.
Ø Keep consistent Accounts Receivable records and contact late payers.
Ø Prepare end-of-day updates for POS systems in the Club.
Ø Prepare the bank deposit on a weekly basis.
Ø Run the credit card and pre-authorized debit payments monthly for member statements.
* Miscellaneous
Ø Maintain an organized filing system.
Ø Provide key support to the Accounting Manager.
Ø Maintain good relationships with members and external customers.
Ø Relieve the front reception desk for lunch breaks in conjunction with the Office Administrator.
Ø Other duties as required.
*Experience Required*
The successful candidate will have a diploma in Accounting & Payroll, and/or a minimum of one year relative experience.
*Compensation & Hours*
* Monday to Friday, 8:00am ? 4:00pm on-site.
* Group benefits three months after start date.
* Two weeks? vacation with no waiting/earning period.
* Full access to the Club?s facilities.
* Range of $40,000 - $45,000 annual salary dependent on prior experience.
