Learning Specialist ¿ Positive Behaviour Intervention and Supports Department of Education and Early Childhood Development Fredericton / Flexible Work Location within New Brunswick Contract / Secondment (OPEN)3 Positions At the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD),we are dedicated to fulfilling New Brunswick's educational mission.Check out what it is like to work at the Government of New Brunswick, where we are working together as?One Team One GNB?to improve the lives of New?Brunswickers?every day!The opportunity:As a member of the Educational Support Services branch (Anglophone sector), you will be supporting schools and districts to build capacity for positive school culture within the Response to Intervention framework with an intentional focus on Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports.Who you are: You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to think strategically and problem-solve complex situations. You posses a high degree of autonomy, a strong sense of purpose, and are results oriented within a fast-paced environment. You will be able to identify the strengths and vulnerabilities within schools and help them build collaborative cultures.What you will do: Reporting to the director of Educational Support Services, the successful candidate's responsibilities will include: Work to enhance and support the provincial behaviour strategy (anglophone), specifically within a Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support framework (PBIS). Work with districts and schools to embed PBIS practices. Provide PBIS onboarding, implementation, and support to schools. Leverage the success of the current exemplar schools to develop a scaled-up model. Be current on research related to evidence-based PBIS and multi-tiered systems of support. Collect and analyse data proactively and systematically to ensure the success of behavioral, academic, and attendance interventions. Develop resources and intervention/supports within an equitable and inclusive lens. Liaise with departmental and district-based Education Support Services (ESS) and Directors of Schools, in addition to universities, community partners and stakeholders. Advise on high yield intervention and instructional practices. Organize where appropriate, professional learning opportunities that promote evidence-informed instruction and interventions. Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:Need to have:A Master's degree in Education and a minimum of six (6) years of teaching experience within an inclusive public education system K-12. Leadership experience within the education sector. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in behaviour and trauma-informed practices. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a field such as adult education/coaching may be considered.Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.Nice to have:Experience leading professional development. Knowledge of the Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support framework.Behavioural Competencies: Developing Others Relationship / Network Building Results Orientation Technical Competencies:Knowledge of Research Methodologies, Principles, and Practices Knowledge of Group Facilitation Techniques Ability to Use Office Technology, Software, and Applications Specialized Subject Matter Expertise and KnowledgeWage:Pay Band 7: $88,712 ¿ $107,328 annually.Work environment:Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton. A remote work agreement may be considered. Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30. Some travel throughout the province will be required.
