Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Construction. Transportation. Tasks: Process and transmit information and instructions to co-ordinate the activities of vehicle operators and crews using dispatching equipment. Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews and equipment. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Establish work schedules and procedures. Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments. Arrange for maintenance and repair work. Co-ordinate, assign and review work. Supervision: More than 20 people. Transportation route and crew schedulers. Purchasing and inventory clerks. Production clerks. Dispatchers and radio operators. Staff in various areas of responsibility. Computer and technology knowledge: IBM AS/400. Dispatch management service software. MS Windows. MS Excel. MS Word. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is not available.
