*Who we are:*
Founded in Ottawa in 1971, Bio-Test has been providing best-in-class specimen collection and diagnostic services to Eastern Ontarians and is fully licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to perform tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, special chemistry, serology, and cytology. Bio-Test is ISO 15189 Plus? accredited through the Institute for Quality Management in Health Care (IQMH and offers customized occupational health programs, including workforce specimen collection, radiology, and ultrasound services, as well as ECGs.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
* Assist in tasks/duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.
* Willing and able to travel to one of our other Bio-Test locations to cover for sick leaves and vacation.
* Sample processing.
* Data entry and troubleshooting errors as they arise.
* Carry out all duties/responsibilities in a professional, clean manner.
* Willing to learn and train in various departments of the laboratory that you would work in when the need arises (specimen processing, phlebotomy, etc.)
* Previous experience as a phlebotomist.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications*
* Certification in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
* Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques.
* Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
* Experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
* Valid driver's license.
* Excellent typing skills and attention to detail.
* Proficient in using computer systems and software, including MS Office Suite.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
