*Job description* Ferguson Deacon Taws LLP seeks an experienced Law Clerk for Estates Administration. The hours of work for the position are Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for a 35 hour work week. The qualified candidate must be professional, very client-oriented and able to multi-task in a busy law firm. The potential candidate would be responsible for: *Estates* · Obtain estate information from clients and institutions and consult with lawyer · Assist with life insurance claims and pension/employee benefits · Prepare and file probate applications · Assist clients to liquidate or transfer assets · Transfer property to beneficiaries or survivor · Assist clients to file income tax returns for deceased and estate · Obtain CRA clearance · Prepare reports and accounts *Skills/Qualifications:* 2 + years experience as a Law Clerk in Estate Administration would be an asset; · Strong oral and written communications skills; · Experience with Microsoft office products; · Experience with WordPerfect · Experience with Estate-a-base; · Strong organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team; · Results and detail oriented with a positive outlook; · Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a high paced law firm; Qualified candidates are invited to submit their application, in confidence, to our Office Manager Jolene Brandon via email.
