The Senior Manager, Finance is a key partner in supporting the Scotia Global Asset Management business partners in helping them execute on their financial strategies and overall financial performance. The Senior Manager is responsible for providing greater financial insight to the business lines partners (internal and external views), management and coordination of planning within Scotia Global Asset Management, and improves the financial production effectiveness. The Senior Manager provides comprehensive financial review, analysis and evaluation of financial performance.The Sr. Manager reports to the Director, and works in close partnership supporting the Jarislowsky Fraser Limited ("JFL") business including the Private Wealth segment and the Global Institutional segment execute on their financial strategies and overall financial performance. The role is also expected to support Scotia GAM with insightful analysis, and continuously looking for opportunities for process optimization. The Senior Manager is required to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, is accountable for leading and motivating the team to maximize employee engagement and build a high performance and results oriented culture Another key part of the role is to manage business relationships and provide deep-analytics and insights to support the business and drive business results. This includes conducting research and analysis based on industry and competitive intelligence (such as IFIC statistics, etc), and structuring / organizing data and building efficient reporting solutions. In addition, the Senior Manager, is also responsible for managing the ? (1) monthly / quarterly reporting, (2) development of the annual financial plans, (3) and quarterly forecasts for the business. The Sr. Manager is also responsible for maintaining and continuous improvement of the management reporting system for Canadian Asset Management Finance and to support finance-related issues for the division. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: Reporting - Business Line / Product Level Reporting with Key Insights Lead and be responsible for all aspects of business line / product level reporting, which includes, but not limited to; Reporting on investment products (such as sales , redemption, market share, etc), research industry investment product trends (asset class, category, industry sales, industry redemptions, market share) and provide insightful analysis to business leaders and executives Support business line leaders with regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements ? such as assist with product-related questions, profitability deep-dive analysis, etc. Maintain high level of data integrity within Finance team to ensure accurate reporting. Any gaps or failures in oversight controls could result in incorrect analysis and information to stakeholders. Reporting - Preparation of monthly and quarterly business line results: Lead and be responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial management reporting, maintaining effective controls and ensuring that timely and accurate information is reported to Senior Management Prepare monthly / quarterly reporting and analysis package and report on monthly & YTD actual business results relative to plan/forecast/previous year activity. Prepare monthly / quarterly dashboard for senior management, and monthly departmental expense report for department heads. Complete quarterly Blue Book, Business Line, Quarterly Overview, and Revenue & Expense Variance analysis and commentary for submission to Senior Management.
