We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team that is willing to learn and grow in a quickly expanding company. The Ideal candidate will have a solid background working in Mid and High rise building design, Project Management, construction, and thorough knowledge of Ontario building code.
*Requirements:*
* Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, works independently and with minimal supervision;
* Responsible for working or leading building projects from start to finish and applying a high level of technical, professional engineering and consulting expertise;
* Familiar with National, Provincial and Municipal Codes and Standards. Ensures the design documents meet established project criteria and applicable standards. Coordinates the preparation of engineering specifications and drawings;
* Responsible for researching and implementing new technology designs as required to meet client's objectives. Utilizes industry specific software and related technologies in design and analysis;
* Prepare engineering design including calculations, specification and drawings for the following building systems:
* High, medium and low voltage power distribution systems
* Generators and emergency power distribution systems
* Uninterruptible Power Systems
* Lighting and control
* Fire alarm systems
* Security and communications systems
* Project management including Quality review and meeting milestones deliverables;
* Attend design and coordination meetings.
*Qualifications:*
* Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or proof of equivalent.
* Over 5 years of related experience in an electrical consulting engineering environment; Candidates with five to eight years related work experience will be considered as Intermediate Electrical Engineer, Candidate with over10+ years related experiences will be considered as Senior Electrical Engineer.
* Extensive experience working on projects in science facilities;
* Strong knowledge of power distribution topologies for clean spaces and familiarity with redundancy concepts;
* Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.);
* LEED Accreditation and sustainable design experience are highly desirable qualifications;
* PMP designation or willingness to pursue this designation is desirable;
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, outlook) are required;
* Experience in design of BAS and DCIM considered an asset;
* Proficiency with MEP Revit is highly desirable;
* Proficiency with Bluebeam Studio is desirable;
* Good communication, organization, leadership, and presentation skills.
