It is located in South Indian Lake, which is a community with a population of approximately 1000 people. It is located 130 air-kilometers northwest of Thompson, MB. Road access into South Indian Lake is approximately 327 kms, year round gravel road and a short ferry ride. This lakeside town offers community services such as a grocery store, health complex and a community hall. <p> <p>Qualifications: <p> <p><p> Bachelor of Education Degree and Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)<p> Fluency in the Cree language both written and oral<p> Knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and the Truth and Reconciliation calls to action<p> Previous teaching experience<p> Familiarity with the Kindergarten to Grade 12 Aboriginal Languages and Culture: Manitoba Curriculum Framework of Outcomes<p> A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn <p> <p> Duties and Responsibilities: <p> <p> <p> Provide instruction to increase students? ability to understand, speak and use a written form of the Cree language and improve cultural knowledge<p> Incorporate Indigenous Way of Life and ways of learning into classroom instruction<p> Gather resources to support language instruction including localized knowledge/speakers<p> Establish community connections with the local associations and organizations that promote Indigenous Languages and Way of Life <p> Assist in the coordination of school cultural activities in cooperation with fellow teachers and community knowledge keepers<p><p><p> Applicants are required to submit the following:<p><p> cover letter<p> current resume<p> list of<p> three professional references including email addresses and contact numbers, all of whom<p> must have knowledge of the applicant?s performance in the applicant?s<p> current or recent assignment<p><p> <p> <p><p>Thank you for your interest; however, only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted. <p>By applying, you consent to the Division contacting your references.
