*Position Scope:*
The Every Woman Center is accepting applications for an Operations Manager to work collaboratively with the Executive Director and all staff to ensure the smooth running of the organization in keeping with its values as a feminist, community-based women s organization. Under the direction of the Executive Director the Operations Manager is responsible for the operations of Every Woman?s Centre including employees, programs, relationships, facilities and establishing and executing major goals and objectives in keeping with the organization?s mission, vision, goals and financial objectives. The position requires a feminist framework, a complex range of knowledge and skills and allows for significant independence and decision making as well as a demonstrated knowledge of both advocacy and social action.
*Qualifications*
· Undergraduate degree in social services or an acceptable equivalent.
· This person must be able to work autonomously and are highly accountable, must be able to think and lead strategically, take initiative, set priorities, evaluate results and make well thought out decisions.
· This person must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
· This person must be compassionate and sensitive to the feelings and needs of women, staff, volunteers and donors. This person must maintain a professional attitude, be a team player and work independently. This person must model and demonstrate the kinds of values, attitudes, expectations, beliefs and choices that foster a feminist organization.
The Operations Manager reports to the Executive Director and the responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
*The Operations Manager will be responsible for:*
· Responsible for supervision of staff, including project workers and summer students.
· Human resources responsibilities including HR strategy, policy, training and development, employee relations, evaluation, recruitment and retention, occupational health and safety, etc.
· Responsible for keeping employee files current and conducting evaluations yearly with each staff member.
· Keep staff informed about professional development opportunities, important issues affecting women and the Centre?s Services.
· Have knowledge of the Personal Manual and make sure staff are aware of the Manual. Update manual every 2 years.
· Ensure appropriate staffing and training, managing staff issues, developing strong working relationships, and fostering a team atmosphere.
· Overseeing financial planning and reporting in collaboration with the Executive Director
· Fund development including managing funding proposals renewals, identifying and acting on untapped revenue streams, optimizing existing fundraising initiatives, etc.
· Managing internal and external communications in collaboration with t he Executive Director.
· Managing and developing strategic partnerships with other organizations, community, government etc.
· Working with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to develop policy, and to contribute to planning and strategy to further the goals of the organization.
· Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance with government and professional bodies.
· Identify and evaluate risks to the organization, employees, volunteers, property, finances, goodwill and implement measures to control risks and ensure policies and protocols are in place that are in the best interest of the organization.
· Oversee planning, implementation and evaluation of projects, programs and services ensuring they are consistent with community priorities, the mission, goals and limitations of the organization and funding capacity which would include educational, employability and life skill programs.
· *Most importantly, front line navigation duties, assisting woman who attend at the center to ensure their needs are met. Examples of this are, assistance in making
