*Schedule:*
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm (some flexibility is possible)
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Oversees the preparation of monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements and reports. Ensures that external document submissions and filings are accurate and timely.
* Works with VP Finance to provide all financial data and performance reports for timely decision-making
* Coordinates external audit, tax reporting and PTIB regulatory reporting requirements.
* Prepares and monitors the Accounting Department budget and business plan.
* Coordinates the annual audit. Ensures that accounting records and reports are in compliance with ASPE and government regulations. Cooperates with and assists external auditors as appropriate.
* Completes reports and analyses of departmental and area operations as requested by Senior Management. Conducts variance investigations, ratio and trend analysis, and other comparative examinations as appropriate.
* Ensures effective financial internal controls for the Department and the Company, including controls over inventory counts, fixed assets, and cash management.
* Coordinates accounting information systems, which track specific operational and financial data. Works to implement and update systems including operational and financial systems, HR/payroll, fixed asset management, expense management, cash management.
* Oversees performance of day-to-day accounting functions and work allocations.
*Required Skills and Qualifications*
* Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks Pro
* Excellent payroll skills a plus
* Strong organizational skill and time management skills
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Must be an adaptable team player
* Ability to work with others as well as independently
