Tasks: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs. Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Instruct apprentices. Estimate costs and materials. Supervision: 3-4 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Willing to travel. Willing to travel regularly. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Overtime required.
