Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Mountain driving expertise. Professionalism in customer service. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Prepare bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents. Deliver goods to customers. Knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate. Type of trucking and equipment: Dry bulk. Refrigerated. Tractor-trailer. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Provincial/territorial. Regional. Short-haul. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Bondable. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel for extended periods. Willing to travel overnight.
