Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Outdoors. Work setting: Various locations. Lawn care company. Landscape contractor. Tasks: Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation. Plan the incorporation of landscape structures. Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements. Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Manage landscaping projects. Prepare conceptual designs. Prepare proposals. Estimate costs. Prepare presentation graphics and drawings. Write specifications. Survey and assess designated sites. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Assess the health of lawns. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens. Plant and move trees. Tree removal. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Attention to detail. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
