Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Outdoors. Work setting: Renovation. Commercial. Residential. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs. Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Supervise other workers. Supervision: 3-4 people. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Physically demanding. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Personal suitability: Reliability. Team player. Screening questions: Are you currently a student?. Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
