Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Dangerous. At heights. Tasks: Hire, supervise and schedule staff. Plan and direct grounds maintenance. Plan and estimate labour and materials. Maintain work records and logs. Tender and administer contracts. Repair and maintain equipment. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Survey and assess designated sites. Operate chainsaw to fell, delimb and buck trees. Establish work schedules and procedures. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Plant and move trees.
