*Position Summary*:
The Assistant Store Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the supermarket while fostering an environment of accountability, growth, and exceptional customer service. Our intention is to have this position serve as a stepping-stone toward assuming the responsibilities of a Store Manager, making it an ideal opportunity for career advancement within our organization.
*Location:* Bay Roberts, NL
*Responsibilities:*
* Collaborate with the store manager to monitor sales and uphold profitability targets
* Assist in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of store personnel. Coordinate schedules, delegate tasks, and foster an environment of ownership
* Support in managing employee turnover and maintaining a positive work environment. Address employee concerns promptly and constructively
* Resolve customer problems or complaints by identifying and implementing effective solutions
* Work alongside the store manager to ensure adherence to company standards in maintaining both interior and exterior store appearance. Encourage staff to take pride in their work and career progression
* Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure staff members uphold the same standard. Assist in overseeing marketing and merchandising initiatives
* Participate in regular store meetings to communicate updates and foster team collaboration. Share information with team members related to new initiatives, internal communication, and career opportunities, etc.
* Promote employee awareness of safety and emergency procedures
* Assist in managing store revenue, including cash handling, deposit reconciliation and bank deposits
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum 3 years of retail management experience. More extensive retail experience would be an asset
* Strong leadership skills. Ability to effectively teach/develop others to the next level
* Good merchandising skills and a flair for conceiving and implementing creative merchandising themes
* Strong operations experience in receiving, stock and inventory as well as front-end management and office management
* Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Strong interpersonal, motivational, communication and organizational skills
* The ability to provide an exceptional level of customer service
* An upbeat demeanor, with a sales-oriented personality. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the willingness to roll up sleeves and get the job at hand done
