<p>Posting #2425-334 Ecole Beairsto Elementary <p>0.1 FTE in the area of Primary FRIMM Teacher <p>Wednesday (8:15am - 11:28am) <p>Must be fluent in English and French <p>This is a temporary contract position. <p> This position is effective September 3, 2024 and will continue until June 27, 2025, or upon the return of the incumbent whichever comes first. <p>While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry. <p>The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $60,000 to $110,000, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement. Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3.<p> Please contact Moira Manthorne, Principal with questions relating to this position.Primary Teacher BC Teaching Certificate membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch and eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.<p> recognized degree in elementary education<p> training in primary education<p> current demonstrated ability to teach at the primary level<p> excellent classroom management skills<p> Demonstrated current knowledge of the subject area, including Big Ideas, curricular competencies, content and appropriate resources<p> the ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs<p> strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills<p> an understanding and appreciation of the importance of First Nations Language & culture<p> knowledge of current instructional practices and the ability to adapt curriculum, programs and instruction to meet the diverse needs of students<p> demonstrated ability to support students, consult with parents and work collaboratively<p> ability to integrate use of technology to support instruction, web-based reporting and communicating with the school community<p> interest in contributing to the professional community at the school<p> knowledge and experience with assessment for learning in curricular areas and the ability to use assessment tools to guide and develop instruction (eg PM Benchmarks, Island Net Math, Primary Screener, WCRA, FSIM, Performance Standards in Writing, Developmental Spelling Inventory)<p> Demonstrate current understanding of culturally responsive learning environment and assessment practices
