Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: On-site customer service. Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Welding experience. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Attach components and adjust new farm equipment. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Service attachments and working tools. Assist process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing. Perform other routine maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Agricultural Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Willing to travel. Valid driver's licence. Travel expenses paid by employer. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Sound discrimination. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
