Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Work setting: Installation. Shop fabrication. Various locations. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Instruct apprentices. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Ensure adherence to safety regulations. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification. Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate. Specialization or experience: Custom sheet metal items. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Tools. Personal suitability: Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Judgement. Organized. Team player. Quick learner.
