Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Commercial. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations. Installation specialization: Vinyl or resilient tiles. Vinyl or resilient sheets. Ceramic tiles. Marble tiles. Borders or feature strips. Flash covings. Hardwood intricate patterns flooring. Linoleum. Modular carpet tiles. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Hand-eye co-ordination. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Personal suitability: Organized. Team player. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
