School District No. 57 (Prince George) <p>TITLE: STUDENT ADMINISTRATION SYSTEMS OPERATOR - SENIOR <p>DEPARTMENT: SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS <p>REPORTS TO: School Principal <p>SUMMARY: <p>With general direction the Student Administration Systems Operator maintains the school administrative computer network and performs secretarial and clerical duties. She/he works cooperatively with other staff, students, parents and the public. <p>DUTIES: Maintains and updates the Student Information System (MyEdBC). <p> Analyzes data, designs and produces school administrative reports such as teacher class lists, correspondence, exams, attendance profiles, and demographic information, as required. <p> Inputs and verifies 1701 data. <p> Inputs definitions equivalent to Ministry codes for grades, mark symbols, courses and credits in TRAX; assigns a TRAX record to grade 10, 11 and 12 students; and forwards marks from previous years into the record <p> Inputs and verifies reports of graduation requirements. <p> Verifies Grade 12 demographics, transcript reports and course codes with Ministry of Education reports including Advanced Placement. <p> Produces reports for the Ministry of Education regarding graduating students. <p> Transfers and receives data to/from the Ministry of Education regarding graduating students. <p> Provides in-service to teaching staff on using specific modules of MyEdBC. <p> Inputs information from a variety of source documents utilizing various computer programs. <p> Functions as a school based computer resource person. <p> Responsible for the preparation and accuracy of student records, lists and reports such as permanent record cards, attendance, report cards, student registration and enrollment reports. <p> Reports to Ministry regarding TRAX and SADE throughout the school year. <p> Assists in the development of the master timetable and various timelines. <p> Trains others in the use of programs. <p> Duplicates, sorts, collates and staples materials. <p> Performs other clerical or emergent duties. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, SKILLS (Student Administration Systems Operator SR) Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. <p> One year post secondary secretarial school training (30 credits) or equivalent. <p> Intermediate level of Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Database Management. <p> Three years of secondary school secretarial experience or five years of secretarial experience with a major component of data entry. <p> Demonstrated ability to analyze data and provide required statistical information. <p> Keyboarding skills of 60 words per minute or proof of competency. <p> Knowledge of Ministry of Graduation requirements. <p> Knowledge of Ministry guidelines and procedures for the 1701 process, TRAX and transcripts. <p> Knowledge of Business English, punctuation, spelling and Business Math. <p> Knowledge of office practices and procedures. <p> Ability to use courtesy and tact in the explanation of and discussion of information in contacts with public, parents, staff and students. <p> Willingness and ability to keep up with current technology. <p> Ability to maintain confidentiality. <p> Ability to perform individually and as part of a team. <p> Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. <p> Ability to plan and schedule work and organize the workload effectively. <p> Ability to work with constant interruptions. <p> Ability to maintain close attention to detail for periods of sustained duration and to meet deadlines.<p>TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED <p>Computer, systems server, scanner, printers, photocopier, telephone, facsimile machine, paper shredder,- LocationPrince George, BC
