<p>Educational Consultant (K -12)- Special Education<p>Reporting:<p>Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Education, the successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of evidence-based instructional practices supporting the Ministry of Education goals for education and the Board's Multi-year strategic plan. <p>Term:<p>3-year term starting September 1, 2024 and concluding August 31, 2027<p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: <p> Collaboration with teachers and administrators on using pedagogy and programs for students requiring additional supports to be successful; <p> Work with schools and multidisciplinary teams/liaise and partner with a variety of community agencies; <p> Provide support for case coordination and support schools and central departments with assistive equipment and individualized transportation processes.<p>Note: In an effort to align with board strategy and Ministry funding, portfolios and responsibilities may be subject to change.Qualifications: <p> Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers Holds qualifications in at least two of the Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions (one of which is either intermediate or senior divisions). <p> Specialist Qualification in Special Education, required <p> Minimum 3 years of experience as a Special Education Resource Teacher <p> Demonstrated leadership experience and skill development such as holding additional qualifications in Principal Qualification Program, Part 1 or Teacher Leadership, or experience in position(s) of responsibility or as a Teacher-in-Charge (TIC)- preferred. <p> Models evidence-based instructional practices <p> Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment <p> Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with students, staff and community <p> Strong problem-solving and communication skills <p> Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education <p> Cultural competence and the ability to integrate the Catholic Graduate Expectations in all areas of learning <p> Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion for student achievement and well-being, with a trauma-informed, anti-oppression and equity lens <p> Performs other duties as assigned <p> A positive, enthusiastic commitment to life-long learning The successful applicant must have their own vehicle and possess a valid driver's licence as travel throughout the district will be required
