build trust and support BC Ferries initiatives, and ensure communities and interested/impacted groups are well informed and engaged.

*The Role*
Reporting to the Executive Director, External Engagement, you add value and are energized by:
* Providing strategic advice and guidance BC Ferries staff and leading the community engagement strategy
* Developing priorities and goals related to community relations and interested / impacted group relations in the organization, in collaboration with Executive Director and Vice President, Public Affairs and Marketing
* Assisting with budget tracking and allocation and leading the community investment function
* Gathering concerns, considerations, needs, and opportunities from advisory committees, and interested / impacted groups and communities, maintaining a strong feedback loop and reporting processes
* Collaborating with advisory groups and panels, interested and impacted groups and communities, to nudge behavioral change and introduce new processes, services and experiences
* Leading all aspects of community and interested/impacted group outreach, engagement, and evaluation, including the development of in-person and virtual materials to support external engagements and events
* Maintaining strong relationships BC Ferries staff and supporting the public affairs and marketing team with shared goals, as required
*What you bring to the team*
* Bachelor?s Degree in Professional Communications, Public Affairs, Public Engagement or related field
* Professional designation with International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) or other similar designations
* 10+ years of experience leading large-scale public participation and external engagements in-person and virtually
* 1-3 years of experience in working with local, provincial and/or federal governments
* 4-6 years of supervisory experience, including mentorship, performance management and People administration
* Extensive experience in strategic communications and community engagement with strong understanding of media relations, social media, and marketing principles
* Understanding of engagement practices including but not limited to trauma-informed inquiry, decolonizing practices, and social and accessible equity based inquiry

*Additional information*
The target salary range: $155,100 - $193,900 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate?s knowledge, experience and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis.
