JOB OPPORTUNITYInvestigator (Bilingual mandatory)Work Location: Rothesay, New BrunswickStatus: This is a full-time permanent position.Pay Scale: Full-time positions offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageStart Date: To be negotiatedPosition Profile InvestigatorDescriptionThe College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB) is a medical regulatory authority that, by authority of the Medical Act, 1981, serves and protects the public by regulating the practice of medicine in the province. With over 20 employees and over 2000 licensed physicians, the CPSNB is currently seeking an investigator to work in an investigator role to support and further the CPSNB's mandate.Reporting to the Director of Complaints, the incumbent will work Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Flexibility in hours may be required at specific times and may include evenings and weekends.Key ResponsibilitiesAs an investigator, you will support the operational administration of the Professional Conduct Department to best ensure success and to meet the requirements of the CPSNB.Below is an outline of key responsibilities:Administrative tasks of a secretarial natureDraft summaries of the evidence, including medical recordsConduct interviews of witnessesPrepare drafts of investigative reportsCase management on complaint filesMaintain communication with relevant parties and legal counsel throughout the investigative processProvide organizational support to the College as neededPhysically able to perform assigned dutiesOther duties as requiredRequired Education and ExperiencePrivate investigator licence or other relevant post-secondary education, or relevant work experience5+ years' relevant work experience; or equivalent of education and experienceAbility to read, write and speak French and English at an advanced level.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficient with Microsoft Office productsStrategic approach to problem solvingAbility to manage multiple tasks in a timely mannerExcellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to navigate emotionally charged situationsTeam player who can also work independently and take initiativeUnderstanding of the regulatory environment would be an assetUnderstanding of the principles of administrative law would be an assetInterviewing skills would be an assetAdditional RequirementsIncumbent must reside in the Greater Saint John areaIncumbent must be legally authorized to work in CanadaBenefitsCompetitive salaryRegistered Retirement Savings programHealth, Drug and Dental planTravel planLife and Disability Insurance optionsConfidential Employee Assistance programInterested parties should forward cover letter, and resume to: Hope.Kelly@cpsnb.org.We thank all participants, however, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
