Water truck driver

Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Professionalism in customer service. Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles). Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. CPR Certificate. Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Driver's License (Class 3 or D). First Aid Certificate. Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Hydrovac. Liquid bulk. Logging, off-highway. Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles). Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Provincial/territorial. Short-haul. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel for extended periods. Willing to travel overnight. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Overtime required. Sitting. Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone. Hard hat. Steel-toed safety boots.
