We pride ourselves on providing staff and students with the tools to achieve success by offering dynamic programming, current resources, and practical professional learning opportunities.<p>EIPS is recruiting a temporary full-time Educational Assistant in the LINKS Program at Fort Saskatchewan High. <p>Fort Saskatchewan High serves approximately 470 students in grades 10 to 12, with 25 teaching staff and 12 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB. <p>Fort Saskatchewan High aims to provide a stimulating student-centered environment that models lifelong learning where every person is provided with the opportunity to reach their own potential.<p>Fort Saskatchewan High School is looking for a compassionate, dynamic, and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our Learning - Individual Needs, Knowledge and Skills (LINKS) Program. The LINKS Program offers specialized support for students with a range of cognitive (intellectual) disabilities, which may include physical, sensory, medical, or behavioural challenges. Our goal is to equip students with the necessary academic, communicational, self-care, social, vocational, and independent-living skills in a secure, organized, and nurturing educational setting. Students in the LINKS Program aspire towards attaining either a High School Certificate of Completion or a Certificate of High School Achievement (Knowledge and Employability), as opposed to a regular high school diploma. Our curriculum is tailored to individual student needs, adhering to the Alberta Education Programs of Study, with necessary adaptations or modifications under the guidance of an Instructional Support Plan (ISP). Commencing September 5, 2024 <p> Ending June 13, 2025 <p> 30 hours per week, 6.0 hours per day <p> Open to internal and external applicants <p> Click on Sign in With Employee Email to be considered an Internal<p> Applicant <p>Key Duties/Responsibilities Provide direct support and instruction to students in the LINKS Program under the direction of the program teacher and multidisciplinary team.<p> Assist in the development and implementation of personalized Instructional Support Plans (ISPs) to cater to individual student needs.<p> Support students in developing skills in areas such as academics, communication, self-care, social interactions, vocational training, and independent living.<p> Facilitate a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment for all students.<p> Address and assist with the personal care needs of students, such as feeding, toileting, and mobility, ensuring dignity and fostering autonomy.<p> Collaborate with teachers, therapists, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance student learning and development.<p> Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, making necessary adaptations to the Alberta Education Programs of Study.<p> Assist with monitoring and recording student progress, adapting strategies as necessary to meet individual goals.Educational Assistants (EAs) assist teachers with many instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom and with other school activities. EAs work as members of the school and student support team.
