Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: All weather conditions. Work setting: Urban area. Hotel, motel, resort. Tasks: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse. Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs. Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment. Perform minor repairs on appliances. Perform safety and security checks. Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Work with minimal supervision. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas. Equipment: Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers. Carpet cleaning machine. Polishing machines. Waxing machine. Power tools. Small tractors (lawn/snow removal attachments). Swimming pool maintenance and cleaning equipment. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
