Based in North Vancouver, Themis Law Corporation is a growing boutique law firm with a personalized approach to assisting our clients. We are currently seeking a paralegal, flexible with scheduling, with a minimum of 5 years experience to join our team. The owner is supportive of work-life balance. The ideal candidate has the self confidence to work independently and juggle many things at once. The firm has an 'all-hands on deck' attitude where everyone works together to get tasks done. This is an in office position. We are looking for someone long-term to grow with the business.
*Role and Responsibilities:*
· Assists with record keeping of deposits, doing bank runs and preparing cheques.
· Prepares documentation related to incorporation, amalgamation, acquisitions, annual reports, resolutions etc.
· Draft correspondence and legal documents with respect to commercial and residential land development matters, experience with developments an asset.
· Administer and manage commercial and residential real estate conveyancing files .
· Execute and review title and off-title due diligence searches.
· Register title and security documents in BC Land Title Office (LTO) and other government agencies.
· Prepare and review purchase and sales contracts, deposits, payout statements, discharge documents and reports.
· Prepare and file electronic filing applications for registration of documents and plans.
· Draft reporting letters
· Communicating with vendors, purchasers, financial institutions, clients, realtors, other counsels, and municipalities as needed.
· Drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements, Trusts and Probate documents.
· Estate planning appointments with lawyer, email and phone communication with clients.
Being detailed oriented is a must.
*Education and Qualifications:*
· Paralegal with at least 5 years of experience in the area of developments, real estate, and corporate law.
· Strong understanding and knowledge of the requirements for filing with the BC Land Title Office
· Seasoned communication skills both written and verbal.
· Able to work effectively independently and to contribute within a highly collaborative, team environment.
· Able to exercise good and sound judgment.
· Proven track record of handling various deadlines in an organized manner in a fast-paced & changing environment
· Able to work well under pressure.
· Strong team player, able to build effective relationships with key internal clients, as well as with other colleagues in the department.
· Strong technical skills and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), Adobe, BCOnline, LEAP and myLTSA
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $45,000.00-$79,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 ? 35 per week
