Our team of Supply Chain and Logistics experts speaks your language and operates in your world.</p><p>I am currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Buyer for one of my clients, an automotive manufacturing company. <br> <br>Job description: <br> <br>- Ensure the supply of various purchase requisitions; <br>- Draft and issue calls for tender; <br>- Negotiate and organize contractual agreements with suppliers; <br>- Develop, optimize and maintain sound relationships with suppliers; <br>- Find alternative sources of supply; <br>- Request quotations from suppliers; <br>- Carry out product research in collaboration with the Engineering, Methods and Quality departments when necessary; <br>- Support quotation requests from Customer Service (after market) and Engineering departments; <br>- Match purchase orders with purchase requisitions; <br>- Send orders to suppliers; <br>- Manage order confirmations with suppliers; <br>- Track open purchase orders and cancel/modify those that need to be cancelled; <br>- Regularly update supplier information (contacts, phone numbers, etc.); <br>- Provide visibility to various departments, as required; <br>- Collaborate with the Sales department when developing a strategy that involves a risk/impact for this department; <br>- Handle supplier returns and non-conformances (purchasing portion); <br>- Process invoices in discrepancy (purchasing portion); <br>- Understand and respect existing and developing procedures and processes;</p><p>Qualifications required: <br> <br>- College diploma in supply management or related field <br>- Minimum 5 to 10 years' experience in the supply chain <br>- Considerable experience in a manufacturing environment <br>- Bilingualism (French and English) <br>- Knowledge of an ERP system (SYSPRO, SAP a strong asset) <br>- Ability to read technical drawings (a strong asset) <br>- Proficiency in MS Office suite and various software programs (Excel at intermediate/expert level) <br>- Sense of priorities, autonomy and initiative <br>- Dynamic, positive & professional attitude</p>
