Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Work setting: Spa. Tasks: Advise clients on beauty care treatments. Analyze hair and scalp condition. Book appointments. Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences. Provide custom hair and scalp treatment. Shampoo customers' hair. Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages. Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences. Perform receptionist duties. Maintain and order supplies. Advise clients on hair colour, hairstyles, make-up, clothing and accessories. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Hairstylist Licence. Hair styling techniques: Blow drying. Hair braiding. Iron waving/curling. Permanents. Hair colouring techniques: Bleach. Dyes/tints. Frosting. Streaking/highlights. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability.
