Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Hot. Work setting: Staff accommodation available. Restaurant. Rural area. Ranks of chefs: Head chef. Tasks: Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff. Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers. Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets. Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Cook Trade Certification. Canadian Federation of Chefs and Cooks certification. Cook Red Seal Certificate. Food Safety Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Initiative.
