Aggregate data will be stored anonymously to support improvements to the Boards hiring processes.<p> Applications for the position of Digital Literacy Resource Instructor are being accepted by the ESL/LINC for St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centres.General Description of the Program: FREE English language training program<p> Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).<p> English as a Second Language (ESL) . Funded by the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.<p> You will report to the Program Managers of the CNC/LINC/ESL Program <p>General Description of Duties: Supporting students to use technology for in-person and online classes<p> Preparing and delivering tutorials to individual students and groups based on CLB guidelines <p> Ensuring level appropriate instruction based on the ESL/LINC guidelines<p> Collaborating with Instructors to assess student needs<p> Providing learnercentered language instruction using resources and activities sensitive to cultural differences and inclusivity<p> Assessing learners needs, development, and skill levels in accordance with CLB guidelines using CLB based assessment tools<p> Implementing PBLA approach to teaching and assessment<p> Using an online platform for posting asynchronous learning materials (Google classroom, Onyx, Avenue, etc.) in a face to face or remote situation. <p> Using professionally acceptable and effective classroom management strategies following LINC/ESL procedures<p> Sharing community support contact information with students<p> Current TESL Ontario Accredited Certification - OCELT<p> Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English<p> Experience teaching in an ESL setting<p> Experience working with adult learners<p> Completed PBLA training and/or experience working with PBLA<p> Knowledge of Avenue, Google Classroom and/or other platforms for learning<p> St. Francis Campus 154 Gatewood Road, Kitchener<p> Highland Road Capus 135 Highland Road West, KicthenerM inimum Requirements: Current TESL Ontario Accredited Certification - OCELT<p> Recent Canadian Language Benchmarks training or willingness to complete<p> Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written EnglishDesirable Assets: Experience teaching in an ESL setting<p> Experience working with adult learners<p> Completed PBLA training and/or experience working with PBLA<p> Knowledge of Avenue, Google Classroom and/or other platforms for learning<p> Comfortable using and learning more technology for teaching EnglishProgram Hours: <p> Monday Thursday 8:45 am 11:45am<p> Friday 10:00 am 11:45 am<p> Start: As soon as possible February 14, 2024<p> In-person instructionRate of Pay: $39.13 per hour plus statutory holiday and vacation pay<p>Qualified applicants are invited to submit a resume and covering letter.
