We pride ourselves on providing staff and students with the tools to achieve success by offering dynamic programming, current resources, and practical professional learning opportunities.<p>EIPS is recruiting a temporary part-time Quest Program Educational Assistant at Pine Street Elementary for Kinder Quest PALS/Kindergarten level. <p>Pine Street Elementary serves approximately 370 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 21 teaching staff and 19 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.<p>Pine Street Elementary strives to provide a safe and caring school community built upon meaningful relationships. The school is committed to providing quality learning opportunities where students achieve academic excellence as self-directed, lifelong learners and develop into responsible global citizens. Pine Street Elementary is also a designated Play And Learn at School (PALS) pre-kindergarten site within the Division. Commencing September 16, 2024 to June 24, 2025 <p> 17 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 4.25 hours per day) <p> Open to internal and external applicants <p> Click on Sign in With Employee Email to be considered an Internal<p> Applicant Elk Island Public Schools is looking for individuals to work as Educational Assistants in our Quest Program. Quest is a smaller group setting consisting of students who are 5-7 years old who are experiencing severe delays in communication and regulation. Educational Assistants (EAs) will work in the Quest program as part of multidisciplinary team. EAs will support the students in participating in the classroom activities along with supporting the implementation of Individual Program Plans for each student. EAs may be responsible for providing personal care for students depending on their particular needs.<p>Duties will include: Supporting instructional, regulation and social needs of students<p> Creating and maintaining professional and respectful relationships with a multidisciplinary team<p> Assisting students with skills in the areas of communication and language development<p> Being responsive to the individual regulation and behaviour needs of the students<p> Lifts, transfers, and personal care of students may be requiredEducation/Experience: <p>Candidates having the following qualifications would be considered an asset: training or experience working with students with disabilities<p> behaviour management training<p> courses related to working with students with special needs<p> experience and/or training with assistive technology for communication and learning<p> excellent interpersonal skills<p> the ability to work with students under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher<p> the ability to provide personal care for students<p> Emergency First Aid and CPR<p> Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training<p> Educational Assistant Certificate or comparable education <p>Note: This position might require lifting and carrying demands that require the ability to bend at the waist, stoop, and twist frequently, the ability to lift between 10 to 50 lbs., the ability to carry, push and pull between 10 to 50 lbs., and the ability to stand, walk and sit frequently.
